Gideon's Origin
Before Gideon
Gideon’s founding family, the Coppedges, have been involved with supplemental education since 1991. Wendy Coppedge, the founder, saw daily practice builds confidence and fundamental skills her children still benefit from today.
How It Started
Wendy opened her first educational center in 1994, but wanted more from a curriculum. So, she with a team of educators developed the Gideon program and curriculum.
Mother and Daughter Together
Stephanie, Wendy’s daughter, tutored through high school and after receiving a math degree from the University of Texas, taught high school math in Austin. She joined the Gideon team in 2002 to develop the program and manage centers.
Gideon Now
The Coppedges created an affordable program that can benefit most students. They still develop and improve the curriculum while operating the Coppell, TX center near Dallas.
